Indigenous Environmental Network
Established in 1990, Indigenous Environmental Network (IEN) was formed by grassroots Indigenous peoples under the leadership of youth, elders, women, and traditional/spiritual societies to address environmental and economic justice issues (EJ) across Turtle Island. IEN’s activities include building the capacity of Indigenous communities and tribal nations to protect sacred sites, land, water, air, biodiversity, the health of both our people and all living things, and to build economically sustainable communities through the principles of Indigenous Just Transition.
